Mercury Grand Slam Celebrity Fishing Tournament
Celebrities and avid fishermen in their quest to hit a grand slam for snook, redfish and trout, while raising money to help "Reel In The Cure" for childhood cancer. Each inshore boat will carry a pair of anglers who will fish along with a celebrity and professional fishing guide. The Offshore Angler Division is exclusively for fishermen who would like to explore the waters west of the beach. Offshore fish caught during the tournament will be filleted and donated to Metropolitan Ministries to feed the hungry. Also featured is a Kid's Fishing Derby in which children with cancer and their families learn to fish, share lunch with tournament celebrities. Friday evening is the Fishermen's Ball presented by Mercedes-Benz USA. It's a tropical fiesta, complete with dinner, drinks, and impressive live and silent auctions, held at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg.
