Short Description: Quincy, the county seat of Gadsden County is located in the center of Gadsden County. The town of Quincy is named in honor of the sixth president John Quincy Adams, who was Secretary of State of the United States when the city was founded. The community has long relied on agriculture as an economic mainstay, with tobacco being the primary crop until the early 1970s.
