Community Description
Short Description: Sebring, the county seat of Highlands County is 50 miles south of Lakeland and 75 miles southeast of Tampa. The community is named for George Sebring, a pottery manufacturer from Sebring, Ohio. The city was founded in 1912 the area remains primarily rural in nature. Sebring is nestled among the rolling hills of Central Florida's scenic ridge, surrounded by fresh water lakes, lofty pines and orange groves.
Community events include the 12-hour Sebring Grand Prix race.
Nearby communities include Avon Park (7 miles), Sylvan Shores (14 miles), Lake Placid (15 miles), Placid Lakes (16.5 miles), Frostproof (18.5 miles), Hillcrest Heights (23.5 miles) and Zolfo Springs (24 miles).

Their office is temporarily closed and the area is not yet back to normal. For this year only, it might be best if your mother enjoyed a bit of the fall season in Michigan and come down later in the season.
