Community Description
Short Description: Carrabelle is 50 miles southwest of Tallahassee and 200 miles north of St. Petersburg. The community is located between St. Marks National Wildfire Refuge and St. Vincent and St. George Island State Parks on US-98. O.M. Kelly, who served as postmaster, established the town in 1877. In 1891, Miss Carrie Hall reigned as the belle of the town and it was then named Rio Carrabelle in her honor. The " Rio " was later dropped.
