Community Description
Short Description: Pierson is 25 miles north of Deltona and 75 miles south of Jacksonville on US-17. The “Fern Capital of the World”, the community was founded in the 1876 by Nela Pierson and became known as Piersonville. The town is best known for the acres of artificially shaded "fern farms" exported worldwide for use in floral arrangements and other decorations. The city is the hometown of baseball player, Chipper Jones.
