Short Description: Trenton, the county seat and the largest city in Gilchrist County is 30 miles from Gainesville and 90 miles from Jacksonville. Ben Boyd, who served in the Confederate Army and set up a sawmill there, named Trenton. He named this town after Trenton, Tennessee. The community is considered a bedroom community of Gainesville.
Local attractions include the Suwannee and Santa Fe Rivers.
