Short Description: Lee is 66 miles from Tallahassee and 110 miles from Jacksonville.
The “Little but Proud” slogan was expressed by former Mayor De Motsis who served the community for 30 years as, “Too little to exist and too proud to go under”. The community is home to three churches, a Baptist, Methodist and a Pentecostal. Lee is noted for the raising of greyhounds for racing.
Local attractions include swimming in the famous Blue Springs on the Withlacoochee River and Blue Springs Park with one of the world's largest underwater networks of caves, 8 miles to the east.
Community events include the Lee Homecoming Days held the first Saturday in April.
