Community Description
Short Description: Hilliard is 30 miles from Jacksonville. The community lies at the intersection of CR-108 and US-1, which is also part of US-301 as it runs south from the St. Mary's River to Callahan. CR-108 is known as Second Street while going through Hilliard.
A trading post was established here in the early 1800s, but the present town was not founded until 1881. It was named for one of the members of the lumber company, Hilliard and Bailey, which put a mill into operation in the area.

Nearby communities include Callahan (11 miles), Folkston, GA (11.5 miles), Homeland, GA (13.5 miles) and Yulee (24.5 miles).
