Clay County is in Northeastern Florida and encompasses 601 square miles. The municipalities of Clay County are Green Cove Springs, Keystone Heights, Orange Park and Penney Farms. The County has a year round population of 142,838 residents.

The nearest airport with scheduled commercial airline service is the Jacksonville International Airport with 2 runways, the longest being 10,000 feet. The nearest Deep Water Port is the Jacksonville Port Authority only 25 miles away.

With a labor force of 76,202 the major private sector employer in Clay County is Orange Park Clay Medical Center with 950 employees.  Jacksonville University, St. Leo College, the University of North Florida, the University of Phoenix, St. Johns River Community College and Florida Community College of Jacksonville serve post-secondary education in Clay County.
